CONNECTING OUR COMMUNITY TO THE CLASSROOM
Greenfield Central School Foundation (GCSF) Educational Enrichment (E2) Grants are intended to support programs and projects by staff within the classroom or in an after-school setting. The grants focus on innovative ways to enhance student learning and achievement through educational resources and experiences designed to augment learning for G-C students.
GCSF E2 Grants have funded technology such as Chromebooks and iPads, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activities, reading programs, exploration of post secondary education and career opportunities and much more.
A Project Lead the Way Mentor was able to develop an engineering presentation for the sixth-grade level. Bringing in students, especially girls, for a day to encourage future studies in engineering. The project involved designing and building towers with only marshmallows and uncooked spaghetti noodles. At the day’s end, the tallest tower stood at 110 cm, or just a little over three feet! GCSF recognizes the unique learning opportunities our teachers provide and continue to fund creative and resourceful programs and tools through E2 grants.
